A charcoal bath loofah is a round mesh puff, and this one is made with activated charcoal compounded into the fiber rather than coated on the surface — which is why the yarn is black all the way through instead of only on top. The open weave builds a thick lather in a few seconds and rinses clean under the tap.
Most bath loofahs are plain PE mesh. Ours is made the way performance textiles are made: the activated charcoal is mixed into the fiber before the yarn is formed, so it is part of the material for the whole life of the product rather than a coating that washes away. In practice the loofah itself stays fresh between showers.
Each loofah carries a reinforced knot at both ends and a hanging loop. The knot is the point that usually unravels first on a cheaper mesh, so it is the part we build up. Hanging it up after each use lets it dry out fully between showers.
